Ipswich Institute
Ipswich Institute is a unique establishment serving an Active Community. The Ipswich Institute was founded 1824 as one of the first Mechanics Institutions in the country, with an aim to “advance the education of the inhabitants of Ipswich and neighbourhood by promoting Science, Literature, the Fine Arts and Adult Instruction”
It still functions to the same purpose, offering a Reading Room, Library and an extensive Leisure Learning programme. The Institute is also pleased to support other local organisations with similar aims.
