Noreen Masud: Five books I love/admire

Namesake: Reflections on A Warrior Woman (2024) by N. S. Nuseibeh - witty, thoughtful, unforgettable essays on life as a Palestinian woman.

The Meteorites (2025) by Helen Gordon - I devoured this gripping non-fiction book about meteorites in a single evening.

By The Fire We Carry (2024) by Rebecca Nagle - reads like a thriller, though it's meticulously researched (and horrifying) non-fiction on indigenous rights in contemporary America.

Don't Talk About Politics: How to Change 21st-Century Minds (2025) by Sarah Stein Lubrano - I'm reading this at the moment - it's out in May (you can pre-order) and it has me riveted. What if 'debate' about politics wasn't the best way to change people's minds? How do we really coax people back from scary conspiracist rabbit holes?

It Lasts Forever And Then It's Over (2024) by Anne de Marcken- surreal, fascinating zombie book - narrated by the zombie!
