About the Event

Marina Warner is an author of fiction and non-fiction, a journalist, cultural commentator, literary judge and critic, Professor of Creative Writing at Birkbeck, University of London, and mythographer. She is well-known for her academic studies of art, myths, symbols and fairytales.

She is involved with ‘Stories in Transit’, storytelling workshops in the UK and in Palermo, bringing young migrant students together with artists, writers and musicians. She is the first woman President of the Royal Society of Literature.

Most recently, Marina has completed a novel inspired by her father’s bookshop in Egypt in the Fifties, entitled Inventory of a Life Mislaid: An Unreliable Memoir. (2021: William Collins)
