Ferdia Lennon was raised in Dublin, lived in Paris for many years, and now lives in Norwich. He read History and Classics at University College Dublin and has an MA in Prose Fiction from the University of East Anglia. Glorious Exploits, Ferdia’s 2024 debut, is set in Sicily in 412 BC, and received an amazing reception. It was shortlisted for the Nero Debut Award; the Books Are My Bag Award; the Dylan Thomas Prize and the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction. A Sunday Times bestseller, it was adapted for BBC Radio 4, won the Waterstones Debut Fiction Prize; the Premio Gregor von Rezzori; the Authors’ Club Best First Novel Award and the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction.
