About the Event

Eva Verde is from East London, now living in Essex with her family and dog. She has written for Marie Claire, Grazia, Elle and The Big Issue. Eva is of dual-heritage and contributed a memoir piece, ‘I am Not Your Tituba’, to Common People, Kit de Waal’s anthology of working class writing. Lives Like Mine, her beautifully written debut novel, considers issues of class, gender and race in a contemporary family setting. We are delighted that she will talk to us about her work, especially her 2023 novel In Bloom. Her new work explores the complicated relationship between mothers and daughters. It has been described as ‘a deeply affecting tale of strength, survival, forgiveness, resilience and determination’. Read more here
