About the Event
Daniel Hahn is a writer, editor and translator, with about eighty books to his name. His translations (from Portuguese, Spanish and French) range from novels to picture-books to football memoirs; he is the author of a number of works of non-fiction, and editor of the new Oxford Companion to Children's Literature. His work has won him the International Dublin Literary Award, the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize, the Blue Peter Book Award and has been shortlisted for the Man Booker International Prize, among many others. He has chaired the Translators Association and the Society of Authors and is programme director of the British Centre for Literary Translation. In 2020 he was awarded an OBE for services to literature.
