A Message from Jacquie Knott, Chair of Suffolk Book League
An update for all our members
We hope you are keeping safe and well in body and spirit in these strange times. Like most arts organisations we have had to take the difficult decision to postpone our activities in order to protect our speakers and our members and guests.
We have contacted Jean Moorcroft Wilson, who will be leading our study day about the World War I poets and asked her to postpone. She has sent us some preparatory reading for that, so if anyone wants to have that to do while we wait for our study day just let me know at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will send it to you.
Jeremy Page who was the speaker booked for the 23rd of April is also willing to postpone and come to see us when this is all over. He has also kindly offered that people might like to send him questions that he can answer via the website. Please send any questions about his current or former books to email@example.com
Our shared love of reading is going to be a blessing in these self isolating times. Jules of Woodbridge Emporium, who usually provide our pop up bookshop, asks us to remind you that, as members you are entitled to a 10% discount from her shop and that she does a postal service. It's a good time to think of supporting small businesses so please do go to her website - https://www.woodbridgeemporium.co.uk/
We would really like to keep in touch with you all while we are otherwise 'closed for business' if you haven't joined our Facebook group yet please click on this link (https://www.facebook.com/groups/SuffolkBookLeague/) and use it to tell us about your reading. If you use Instagram please follow us and tag us in your post. If you post pictures of the books you are enjoying with some comments, we could share reading ideas.
Keep safe and keep reading, warmest wishes, Jacquie
